How it Works

The Active Travel Challenge is a competition to see which teams in Derbyshire can get the most people walking, running or cycling in the month of September. It's fun, free and anyone can get involved. Teams that come top win great prizes. Individuals can also win prizes, just by taking part. It's a chance for everyone to enjoy active travelling in Derbyshire, whether to work, on the school run, to the shops, to visit friends or for leisure.

It's not about doing the most miles. It's about getting more people to experience (or remember) how much fun, and how easy, regular walking, running and cycling can be. There are so many benefits - getting fit, staying healthy, saving money, feeling less stressed, and being kind to the environment.

If you walk, run or cycle already, why not create a team and encourage your colleagues, pupils, friends or family to join you?

The Challenge begins at 9am 5th September and will continue until 5pm 30th September 2011. You can join and log journeys at any time until 8pm 30th September 2011.
